About ASR Laboratory:
The themes of Autonomous & Soft Robotics Laboratory (ASR Lab.) consist of autonomous systems and soft robotic manipulators. The research interests of ASR lab. are autonomous systems, novel soft robot design, advanced control systems, hybrid robot design combining rigid and soft machines, computer vision and visual servoing, and autonomous manipulation with AI approaches. The autonomous systems are developed by integrating the approaches and technologies of advanced artificial intelligence, deep learning, reinforcement learning, intelligent control, machine vision, sensor fusion, simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) and human-machine interaction to perform the autonomous operation for intelligent robot and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). The researches of soft robotic manipulators focus on novel mechanical design and control methodologies, including continuum robots and concentric tube robots. The soft robotic manipulator projects further combine the approaches and technologies of the abovementioned autonomous system to improve the autonomy capabilities.
